About Kanchanaburi

Beyond the modern city center and bountiful natural wonders, the western town of Kanchanaburi possesses a dark history. Known primarily for the famous Death Railway or Burma Railway built in WWII, the town honors their war victims that built the bridge at the JEATH War Museum. Visit the Hellfire Pass, a museum and memorial for soldiers who passed during the construction of the bridge.

Apart from its dark past, Kanchanaburi's national parks such as the Erawan National Park offer a serene escape from the busting city. The town's parks are also a hub for recreational activities such as hiking and swimming.
