Trat (or Trad) a province in Thailand’s southeastern corner, borders Cambodia along the Cardamom Mountains. With a coast on the Gulf of Thailand, the province encompasses numerous islands with white-sand beaches and coral reefs, many of which lie within Mu Koh Chang National Park. The largest island is Koh Chang, known for its dense jungle, waterfalls and offshore coral reefs, plus Bang Bao village with its houses on stilts.
With 52 large and small Islands featuring long, white, sandy beaches and unspoiled coral reefs, Trat Province offers delightful scenery and a number of tranquil hideouts for beach and nature lovers. The province also serves as a major fruit growing, fishing, and gem mining region.
